Dr Simon Fryer PhD, MSc, CSci, BA (Hons), PGCE, BASES Accredited Scientist and Chartered Scientist

Founder of The SPRINT Lab

Dr Simon Fryer is the lead high performance sport scientist at The SPRINT Lab. Simon has lectured in Sport and Exercise Physiology at universities for over 15 years. In addition to lecturing, Simon has an extensive research profile publishing over 100 journals investigating human physiology. Simon is a world leading expert in cardiovascular physiology and has spent the last 15 years investigating how and why  muscle oxygen uptake kinetics are so important for elite level athletes. He has extensive experience in conducting a variety of high-performance tests such as lactate thresholds, V̇O2 max, measures of economy, skeletal muscle oxidative capacity, anaerobic power and many more. Simon has worked with a wide variety of elite athletes competing at a national level including but not limited to ultra-runners, sprinters, mountain bikers, time-trialists, rowers, sailors, rock-climbers and mountaineers.

World Leading Sport Scientists

Dr Tabitha Dickson PhD, BA (Hons)

Co-Founder of The SPRINT Lab

Dr Tabitha Dickson is a sport scientist with over 14 years experience working with a variety of different athletes. Tabitha's PhD was spent looking at understanding the psychophysiological demands of elite rock climbing performance. She conducted work looking at metabolism, understanding VO2 kinetics as well as the cortisol response. Tabitha has published over 35 journal articles focusing on elite sports performance. In addition to her sport science knowledge she is an endurance athlete having completed multisport events such as Coast to Coast in New Zealand, and is currently training for the 75km ultra run, The Gap
